State-Level Building Codes for Roofing in Georgia
As of January 1, 2026, the State of Georgia has adopted the 2024 editions of the International Building Code (IBC) and the International Residential Code (IRC) as the mandatory state minimum standard codes. Primary State Agency

The DCA facilitates the State Codes Advisory Committee, which makes recommendations for code adoptions and amendments. While the DCA sets these statewide standards, the final administration, permitting, and inspection processes are typically handled by local government building departments.
